What do you do as a Solution Sales Specialist?
I joined Insight Belgium as a Solution Sales Specialist (S3) – Connected Workforce beginning of March 2020. As an S3, I work closely with our Sales and Delivery Teams to build projects around the M365 Solution Suite. Activities include pre-sales, by identify and scoping opportunities with Account Managers; working on offers and presenting and negotiating Statements of Work with customers; and planning the implementation with Delivery Teams. In this, we build strong relationships with our customers to develop further services solutions and identify upsell activities. On the marketing side, we also present webinars and live seminars on Connected Workforce subjects.
How did you end up at Insight? What drew you here?
After reorganisation of my previous employer, I looked for a new challenge and was attracted by the evolution of Insight and its solutions range, especially over the last 10 years. I saw an interesting hybrid function between Sales and (technical) pre-Sales in the Solution Sales Specialist function. This role was an opportunity to bring my 20-years experience in Sales in ICT, Telecom and UC&C and a challenge to gain more knowledge and experience in a technical field.
How has your journey at Insight evolved?
My first 3 months at Insight were very positive and I was immediately involved in a lot of projects for customers. The exceptional Covid context meant that after just 2 weeks I had to finish my onboarding remotely. At Insight, we were all trained and equipped to keep a high level of productivity and were able to continue to deliver our solutions and services remotely. I learnt a lot on the job with great coaching from my colleagues.
What is the best part of your job?
Being able to use my sales experience and adding a technical part to it. I am the link between the sales team and delivery team while having close and frequent contact with our Corporate Account customers.
What does success in your job at Insight look like to you?
Success is to close the technical gap that I had as previously working in a sales only function. Success as a business is to build interesting projects and propose the best fit solutions and services to our customer with a high level of satisfaction. In Belgium, it is important for Insight to proove we have a large and varied service portfolio.
