SUSE and Insight sign distribution agreement

SUSE, a pioneer in enterprise open source software, announces that it has signed a distribution agreement with Insight. Insight becomes a fulfilment agent for Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) in Belgium and Luxembourg. Using Insight's channel and customer contacts and expertise, SUSE will be able to further expand its footprint in this segment.

SUSE Cloud Service Provider Program

The SUSE Cloud Service Providers Program allows Cloud Service Providers to give their customers access to the extensive portfolio of SUSE products, either on demand or in a managed hosting environment. This enables Cloud Service Providers to pass on to their customers the monthly use of the various SUSE subscriptions afterwards. The agreement allows Insight to offer a large part of SUSE's solution portfolio to Cloud Service Providers: SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP, SUSE Containers as a Service Platform, SUSE Cloud Application Platform, SUSE Enterprise Storage and SUSE Manager.

Marijn de Vos, Director EMEA North Region for SUSE: "Insight is going to 'exploit' the market for us. They provide part of the aggregation of the market by supplying SUSE solutions to smaller CSPs. Sometimes it seems that SUSE is only suitable for large parties with large IT environments. However, the market has changed to such an extent that we see, for example, that starting hosting partners from the cloud are going to offer a product such as SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP."

With our help they can also be successful in the field of Linux and tier-2 storage. We are hardware-independent, so our hosting partners can decide for themselves which commodity hardware will be used for their storage and thus optimize their profit margin."
